2)      Belem Tower

The Belem Tower was actually built as a fortress which was built in 1500 in order to prevent the harbor of the Lisbon. Again this is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Belem Tower has become a symbol of modern day Portugal. The tower is close to the first attraction we discussed,  Jeronimos Monastery. 3)      St.George Castle

Calouste Gulbenkian was one of the world wealthiest men in twentieth century, he died in Lisbon in 1955. He had collected a lot of the world’s finest art collections for more than forty years and donated all his treasures to the country of Portugal. Gulbenkian’s finest private art collection is housed in this museum.

The Berardo Museum displays modern art collections. Whatever time a visitor attends the museum there will always be a display of more than two hundred and fifty art collections. Ranges of Paintings, sculpture, photography, and installations are spread across two floors. Those who are interested in modern arts should pay a visit to the Museum.
