If you are planning a visit to Amsterdam, you have to know that locals love to eat sandwiches and toasts with cheese and this is what they have for lunch when outside or in their offices. However, if you want to try something different than a sandwich you can go and treat yourself well at the restaurant Dish. For three days each week this restaurant is open for dinner and also take-away. In this place you will find sandwiches of a different kind with some really interesting toppings and combinations. The place offers wonderful brownies and fruit shakes for those with a sweet tooth.
Another great place that is on focus here today is called “De Hegeraad” and it is placed in the city centre. This is an old pub where you can enjoy your long coffee in the afternoon or a few beers in the evening. This pub reminds of De Pilsener Club. It has a nice terrace set under lovely trees and is set on the Noordermarkt street. The pub could get quite busy during the weekends, but it is fun to be here.
The mentioned above “Pilsener Club” is also located in the center of the city and is open every day but on Sundays. This is among the oldest pubs in the city of Amsterdam and the atmosphere reminds of the past with the old pictures on the wall and its original sandy floor boards. Many people who come here are regular clients and some even have their name on plates set on their favorite seats, which is kind of cute. You can have some really tasty beer here, which goes well with Dutch cheese and the other specialties that are served in this pub.
Another place that deserves the attention if you like to drink beer is called “’t Arendsnest”, which is a very special beer bar, arranged in the typical Dutch way and atmosphere. Placed in the centre of the city, the pub is open every day for a great night out. This is actually the first Dutch bar that is specialized on selling beer. The bar offers to its customers different types of beer that are locally brewed and thus you will find here thirty beers on tap and thus you can try as many of them as you like and see how they taste. With the “’t Arendsnest” pub you can enjoy some private beer tastings or you can sign up for a master class or take part in one of the open events. Besides beer, the bar also serves different liquors, wines and whiskey.
The last bar to be presented here is called Melkweg, also set in the center of Amsterdam city. Here one can not only have a drink or two, but also can attend a concert of famous bands or a dance party, enjoy a movie, or take part in a festival or an exhibition. The program is always interesting and there is a nice restaurant. This is a kind of a cultural center and you will like to spend some time there for sure.
