Let’s go vintage in Amsterdam

Many people happen to love the vintage things and if you happen to be one of them, there are a few places that we want to share with you in the city of Amsterdam. A lot of people who are into fashion realize that the clothes and accessories that they will find in the regular shops and stores in the huge malls are nothing near to the treasures they can dig out in the vintage stores and feel special and one of a kind. That is why we have selected a few vintage places in the capital of Netherlands, which might stir your imagination.

The first shop on our mind is called “I love vintage” and it is placed in the center of the Amsterdam city. It works every day but on Sundays and is open from 9.30h in the morning until 6h in the afternoon. This company has a web based shop, which is quite successful and it was followed by the opening of a boutique, placed near one of the canals in Amsterdam city. The store is very well organized and bright and you can easily find what you are looking for. Besides a wonderful collection of vintage bags and shoes from the 50’s up until the 90’s, one can also find a lot of dresses and cardigans. Besides the impressive vintage collection, the store also features some new things, including accessories.

The other vintage store that is on our minds (and which is quite popular as well) is called “Laura Dols”. This shop is located in the city center and works every day. Actually, “Laura Dols” is being the most famous of the vintage stores in Amsterdam, placed in the “Nine Streets” area. The store sells various items from the 50s onwards and one can find here hats and dresses, pumps and clutches, etc. They also have a special area where they sell cocktail and ball dresses, which are arranged by the color. All the items come with affordable prices and the staff is quite helpful assisting you with everything. There are new things offered each day, so if you can’t find what you are looking for, try on the next day. The clothes are clean, so you will feel quite comfortable and pleasant shopping from here.

Once you have bought your new vintage outfit, there is another store that you can visit and this is the “Beadies” shop in the center, which works every day but on Sunday. Here you can make your own jewelry, just the way that you like it. There is a wonderful collection of beads and accessories here, which are beautifully arranged in wooden cabinets. Using these beads you can make earrings and necklaces, as well as bracelets – in the way that you like them. Each week from Monday until Friday, you can sit at the big wooden table and make your own jewelry. You can make some really impressive items here – modern, classy and quite fashionable.
